Hastings County operates two long-term care homes: Hastings Manor (Belleville with 253 beds) and Hastings Centennial Manor (Bancroft with 110 beds). 

Both homes offer private, semi-private, and basic rooms. Respite rooms are also currently available.

Should a resident or their representative have a suggestion, request, or complaint at any time, regarding the programs or services, we invite you to bring them to the attention of any team member, supervisor, or manager.

 

Concerns can also be addressed through care conferences or through one-on-one discussions with members of the leadership team. It is our intent to resolve all concerns in as timely a manner as possible. A copy of the Resident and Family Complaint Policy is available in the Resident Information Centre at the long-term care homes and by request.

In Ontario, application and placement in long-term care is managed through Home and Community Care Support Services. You can find the contact information for your local centre at http://healthcareathome.ca/.

 

It is important that you apply through the region that you currently live in. Home and Community Care Support Services will work through the application process with you and discuss homes that you have an interest in.

 

The Homes review each application individually to determine if they have the correct physical surroundings and talent ability to support a potential resident’s care needs.

 

Placement on the waitlist is determined by Home and Community Care Support Services based on your needs and urgency for placement into a home.

 

Once your application has been reviewed and accepted by the long-term care home, you will receive a letter of acceptance. This indicates that you are now on the waitlist for that home.

 

Home and Community Care Support Services will notify you once you have been matched to a bed and process for admission. 
 

Requirements for visiting Hastings Manor, Belleville, and Hastings Centennial Manor, Bancroft, during COVID-19:

Your gift will help us enhance the lives of our residents. Give in honour of a family member or loved one. We can accept cash and cheques made payable to the Home. All donations go towards the purchase of supplies and equipment to improve resident services and special activities for our residents. A thank you letter and receipt will be sent to you.

Hastings Manor Resources

There are 253 beds at Hastings Manor across eight resident home areas, called villas. There are two villas per floor on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors. 


Each villa has approximately 32 resident rooms, a dining room, a fireplace lounge, two sunrooms, an activity room, a spa, and in-villa personal laundry. There is a balcony area between the villas on each floor. 


The villas on the 2nd floor are secured and have direct access to secured therapeutic gardens for outdoor enjoyment.
 

The Home has both basic and preferred accommodation (semi-private and private). 

  • Basic room: two residents share a room and a washroom; there is a partial wall between sleeping areas. 
  • Semi-private room: a single resident per room, with a shared washroom. 
  • Private room: a single resident per room, with a private washroom. 

Rates are set by the Ministry of Long-Term Care and may be adjusted annually. Basic accommodations could be subject to subsidies, where applicable. Semi-private and private room rates are the responsibility of the resident in full. Learn about the most up-to-date information on rates here.

The monthly rate is inclusive of: 

  • Accommodation
  • Meals (three times per day, and as needed)
  • Nutritional snack (two times per day, and as needed)
  • Hydration needs
  • All direct care needs 24/7
  • Housekeeping and laundry services
  • Maintenance of room and facility
  • Physiotherapy, if required
  • Medical care supplies
  • Personal hygiene supplies

Rates do not include: 

  • Additional care requests (i.e., massage therapy, foot care, dental, etc.)
  • In-room cable television
  • Personal internet services
  • Hairstyling


Phones are available in each room for an additional cost, arranged by the Home. Internet and cable television are the responsibility of the resident or family. In-home services can be arranged for foot care, dental services, and newspaper delivery. Hair services are available on-site for a fee.
 

At Hastings/Quinte Long-Term Care Homes, we want you to feel that you are at home. It is our people and our community that make this a home of choice. The following items are encouraged in order to allow each resident to have their room feel like home: Personal belongings like clothing, pictures, mementos, and small furnishings. Furnishings and personal electrical appliances must be approved by the Facilities Maintenance Department before going into the resident’s room. 

For the safety and well-being of all residents in the Home, the below items are not permitted: 

  • Wall-mounted televisions
  • Items of significant value like jewelry or sums of money 
  • Extension cords
  • Personal refrigerators

Hastings Manor Long-Term Care Home is looking for friendly, outgoing, and reliable people to volunteer for 3-4 hours per month at the Courtyard Cafe, with activity programs, and in the hair salon. Call Jennifer at 613-968-6467 ext. 2244 to request an application or email leclairj@hastingscounty.com to start your rewarding journey as a volunteer.   

A registered Dietitian will assess residents’ needs and plan a variety of meals and snacks with a four-week rotating seasonal menu. Guest dining is offered in private dining areas. Our specialized diets include: 

 

  • Purée
  • Minced
  • Diabetic
  • Anti-reflux
  • Dysphagia 

Each meal has two options for the resident to select. To book the family dining room for a private meal with your loved one, please call the Food Service Supervisors, Carol Ann Bristow or Leanne Parker at 613-968-6467 ext. 2231.

All residents have the opportunity to participate in the following programs: 
 

  • Restorative Care: Montessori programs, daily exercises, sensory stimulation, and physiotherapy
  • Spiritual Care: pastoral visits, Bible studies, hymn sings, church services, memorial services
  • Social Activities: teas, musical entertainment, games, one-to-one visits, community outings, and sports programs
  • Wellness Centre: hydration program, exercise equipment, heat therapy, paraffin wax treatment, fine motor skills therapy, group exercises

The recreation department charters bus services to offer drives, shopping trips, and sightseeing tours on a seasonal basis.

Every Long-Term Care Home benefits from having an active Family Council that:

  • Advocates on behalf of residents' families
  • Maintains two-way communication between families, team members, and leadership of the Home
  • Share recommendations for the purpose of quality improvement in care and service provision
  • Information and provides education to all families
  • Provides mutual support for family and friends of residents, including new residents
  • Communication information and provide support to families who are new to the experience of Long-Term Care

Members of a Family Council can be a relative, a friend or a person of importance to a resident of Hastings Manor.

Our Home

Hastings Centennial Manor Resources

There are 110 beds at Hastings Centennial Manor. The Home is divided into four residential home areas, known as Communities: 
 

First floor: 

  • Cheddar Community 
  • Glanmire Community

Second floor: 

  • Hybla Community 
  • Thanet Community

Each community has approximately 28 resident rooms, a dining room, a TV lounge, a sunroom, a spa, and personal laundry facilities. Each sunroom has an outdoor balcony/sitting area for residents to enjoy the outdoors. 
 

Cheddar Community
The Cheddar Community offers supportive programs for persons living with dementia and is designed to provide a safe environment to support personal expressions of exploring or searching. The Home has implemented Late Risers Breakfast, introduced flexible programming, and developed a number of interactive/sensory areas for residents in this community.

We have volunteer opportunities to meet your availability. Opportunities range from regular commitments to as-needed for special events. We would love to have you as part of our team.
