In Conversation with Artists Featuring: Suzanne Cavers - Presented by The Tweed & Area Arts Council

September to November 2026
Tweed Public Library & The Atrium of The Marble Arts Centre

A selection of Suzanne Caver's work is on display at the Tweed Public Library and in the atrium of the Marble Arts Centre. This is your invitation to explore Suzanne's work, visit charming venues, and view a video of Suzanne in conversation about her work and inspiration.

As a young woman, it wasn’t paint, it was clay that drew Suzanne into creating art: the feel of it in her hands, molding it into pots, texturing it with vinegar and seeing the glazed colours come from the kiln. “What colour does all on its own!”. She didn’t pursue it further but went on to a rewarding nursing career.

When she left nursing, she began to wonder if she could produce a result from “putting brush to paint and paint to paper”.

She took courses in abstract and landscape using acrylics, and life drawing at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Her work has been accepted in juried shows in both Toronto and Belleville. She has been a member of the Belleville Art Association (BAA), the Eastern Central Ontario Art Association (ECOAA), Quinte Arts Council and the Tweed & Area Arts Council, since it’s inception. Suzanne was one of several local artists who have had an enormous influence on ‘Art in the Park’ over the years.

Though at 90 Suzanne no longer paints, it has been a source of joyful expression using her love of colour.
