How We Can Help Ontario's Turtles by Think Turtle Conservation Initiative at The North Hastings Public Library

Have you ever wondered why Ontario's turtles need our help, why they cross the roads, or what simple actions really make a difference?

Join Think Turtle Conservation Initiative at the North Hastings Public Library on for an engaging Turtle Talk that is open to all ages.

Whether you're three or ninety-three, there is something fascinating to discover about these remarkable reptiles. We'll explore the important role turtles play in keeping waterbodies healthy, the many challenges they face locally and across Ontario, and, most importantly, the practical things each of us can do to help ensure they remain part of our landscape for generations to come.

Following the Turtle Talk, the library has organized a fun turtle-themed activity for children, and they have turtle colouring pages available as well.

Please note that there will not be any live turtles at this Turtle Talk. Rather than bringing turtles to public events, our goal is to inspire a greater appreciation for Ontario's native turtles and encourage people to become part of their conservation.  

We hope you'll join us for an afternoon of learning, conversation, and conservation. Every person who understands turtles a little better becomes another voice helping protect one of Ontario's most remarkable and at-risk groups of wildlife.
