Downtown Tweed
61 Victoria Street North, Tweed, ON K0K 3J0
Built in 1898, North America's Smallest Jailhouse was built before the town incorporated. Measuring just 15.7 feet by 19.7 feet, it originally had three cells and a lobby space. The jailhouse operated until 1950, when it closed due to a lack of local crime.
Now used as a Visitor Information Centre, stop in to have your photo taken behind bars! The jailhouse is open May & June on weekends only from 10am-6pm and July & August, Thursdays to Mondays from 10am-6pm.
